The first part of Ugandan especial troops trained to guard United
Nations offices in Somalia’s capital Mogadisgu, a town that is
recovering from two decades of chaos and warlordism have landed in Adden
Adde International Airport today.
reports from the capital, 70 special trained Ugandan
soldiers have arrived in Mogadishu as part of 400 Ugandan special troops
that are scheduled to be deployed into Mogadishu in a bid of
strengthening the security of United Nation bases in Mogadishu.
These special troops deployed into the capital of Somalia are
expected to work under the mandate of African Union Mission in Somalia
where the troops will be working in the United Nations bases in
Mogadishu to cope up with the terror attack threats in the region.
Colonel Paddy Ankunda, one of the Ugandan troops spokesman told the
press that the remaining number of the special Ugandan soldiers are
going to be deployed soon
Recently deadly terror attacks had been plotted in the capital
targeting United Nations compounds which motivated the deployment of the
special Ugandan soldiers unit into Mogadishu.
