United Nations High Commission for refugees is among the humanitarian organizations which have been seeking access to the stadium to enable its officials to assess the humanitarian crises reported from the detainees.
Inspector General of Kenyan police David Kimanyo withdrew directive banning all Humanitarian organizations to access the detainees who many of them are asylum seekers in the country.
According to Kenyan police spokesman, 3000 people have been screened so far and 467 have been detained for further investigations while 69 others are charged with offenses.
Humanitarian organizations have accused the security authorities of violating their rights and the rights of the refugees.
“What we are concerned about is that, the law is observed, the human right aspects are also observed and unfortunately we are refused to access the refugees despite consistent and persistent calls to the authorities to allow us access.” said a human right activist Al-Amin Kimathi.
Human rights have shown concerns on the increasing humanitarian crises of the refugees under the custody of Kenyan security authorities.
