SOMALIA: Puntland vows hard response on Somaliland’s opression on Taleh



Garowe (Bile Blog) Somalia’s semi-autonomous state of Puntland today declared that it will react hard against the Somaliland’s seizure of Taleh town in the Sool region, an area heavily disputed by both sides.
Early on Tuesday, Heavily armed Somaliland forces entered the town this morning without resistance, a resident in Taleh told abdi omar bile freelance journalist.

the move by Somalilamd forces was a total provocation against Puntland and that Garowe will immediately respond hard on it.
Taleh town has been the seat of Khatumo State, a federal state formed by clans of Sool and Sanag in early 2012 but not yet recognized by Mogadishu.
“After the invasion of Somaliland against Puntland territories in Sool and Sanag, the cabinet had extraordinary meeting today and issued a red warning towards the new invasion.” Mr Indhaguran said in a press conference in Garowe this afternoon.
He said Puntland is ready to give hard response against Somaliland.
“We want to inform the International Community to be fully aware of Somaliland’s provocative move against Puntland.” he added.
The Minister repeatedly mentioned that President Ahmed Silanyo of Somaliland will bear the consequences of what he said as a new war in Sool and Sanag regions seized by Somaliland forces.
