USA: Somali-American Day announced in USA

Somali American day was announced after Somali American citizens voted July 1 to mark “Somali American day” in Minneapolis city.
The city council of Minneapolis finally approved July 1 to mark the Somali American day in the city.
The first Somali American citizen who appeared in the Minneapolis City council expressed his appreciation for this day.
“This is a very important resolution for me and it actually came from the elders and the community leaders who wanted to highlight the contributions, the culture, the values of the Somali-American community, which is a large and growing population in the city of Minneapolis.” Warsame said
Besides the 1 of July’s mark for the Somali-american day, Somali community also commemorate 1st July as the Somali independence day.  
Somali community in Minneapolis and America as well have welcome the marking of 1 July as Somali-american day.
