SOMALIA: Puntland president reaches Galdogob town amid local tour

(Bile Blog) The President of Somalia’s Semi-autonomous region of Puntland Abdiweli Mohamed Ali  Gaas has reached Galdogob town on the Ethiopian-Somalia border on Sunday.
The visit is part of the first local tour by Puntland’s President Abdiweli Gaas, the former Somali Prime Minister, who was elected as the region’s new president in January this year.
In the last couple of days, President Gaas spent in Galkayo in the central Somalia region of Mudug.  His Galkayo visit came as armed soldier shot dead two foreign UN workers at the city’s airport in last week.
According to President’s information team, Mr Gaas will be visiting some key facilities in the border-located town and will be holding meetings with the local administration officials and the community elders to assess the needs of the people in the historical town of Galdogob.
