Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud today reached the Kenyan capital, Nairobi to hold meeting with his kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Presdent’s visit to Kenya was unexpected and came amid high security tension in Kenya following bomb explosions in the past months.
Kenya declared recently its plans to send back Somali refugees to their homeland, but it wasunclear if President’s visit to Kenya was related to the issue.
Somalia, Kenya and the UN’s Refugees agency signed a trepartiate agreement last year which pves the way to returning of more than 160,000 Somali refugees in Kenya back to their home country.
According to Kenya’s interor minidter Ole Lenku, Kenya continues to worry for its security while it wants to ease the burdens of the Somali refugees in Kenya.
