SOMALIA: UK’s Africa Minister attends Somalia Stabilization meeting in Mogadishu

Mogadishu (RBC) UK’s Africa Minister Mark Simmons has attended today a meeting on Somalia Stabilization at Villa Somalia after paying an urgent visit to Mogadishu, RBC Radio reports.
According Somalia Interior Minister Abdullahi Godah Barre, Mr Simmons met with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and discussed numerous issues including the bilateral relations between UK and Somalia.
“Several issues were discussed in the meeting. We have touched the security and stabilization plan as well as the UK’s role in the new Somalia and the Vision 2016 set by Somalia Government” Mr Barre said in a press conference shortly after the meeting which the UK minister attended.

, MPs and other officials in the presidency declaring a new package of support to Somalia government institutions.
Among the UK’s support to Somalia will be stabilizing and securing the country after Al Shabab and holding free and fair elections by the year 2016.
UK has hosted two high level conferences in London in the past two years to address Somalia on international level, which the Federal Government of Somalia described as a great western support to war-torn nation for more than two decades.
