SOMALIA: Prime Minister Abdiweli starts meetings with local people in Kismayo

After paying his first visit to the southern port town of Kismayo on Saturday, Somalia Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed today starts holding discussions with local community in Kismayo.
According to statement released by the Office of the Prime Minister late on Saturday, Prime Minister Abdiweli will continue to discuss the local administration on executing Addis Ababa agreement between the Federal Government and the Interim Administration in Jubba in August last year.
“The Prime Minister received warm welcome as he arrived the port town of Kismayo.  On tomorrow [Sunday], he will start meeting with the local administration officials and the people.” the statement said.
According unnamed Lawmaker who is currently joining the PM’s delegation in Kismayo, the discussions will be included handing over the seaport and the airport of Kismayo to the Federal Government, as part of the implementation of the Addis Ababa Agreement.
“The Prime Minister is also scheduled to tour the seaport, the airport and other facilities including the army bases in the town.” this MP said.
Both the Mogadishu-based Federal Government and the Interim Administration of Jubba have alleged the lack of implementing the Addis Ababa on the other side while most if the critical issues of the agreement were not fully put into practice.
